Kim Delaney was an American actress. The actress is best known for her character, the detective Diane Russell, in the ABC show NYPD Blue. For this she received an Emmy Award. Her first film role was as a teenage innocent in All My Children, a 1981 soap opera. Delaney, a young actress in the 80s, has been featured in numerous TV shows as well as dramas. Similar to her profession however, her private life has not been a success or happy one. The skilled actor had to battle alcoholism, and she has experienced two divorces. In 2005, the actress lost custody over her one son.
